We work out of a converted warehouse space a few blocks off Albert Road, on the second floor with the roller door painted terracotta. Ring the bell marked with the hand-lettered Botanical Fibre sign and someone will come down. The stairs are steep, so if you are carrying a loom or a large commission, message ahead and we will meet you at the loading entrance on the side street.
If you are coming for a commission quote, bring rough dimensions and a photo of the wall or table the piece is for. Wet samples from the current dye batch are on the table, and you can take a swatch home to check against your light.
Saturday sessions hold eight people, so we work from a short waiting list. Tell us which date suits you and what you would like to make, and we will confirm your bench by email within two working days. If you are after a wall hanging or a set of dyed covers, mention the wall size or the number of pieces and we will come back with a per-square-metre quote and a dye window.
Messages land in the same inbox we check between dye baths, so a reply usually comes within a day or two. If you are asking about a commission, mention the wall or table it is for and roughly how wide it should run. For a Saturday bench, tell us how many people are coming and whether you have knotted before. That saves a round of emails.
Dye days shift with the weather, so call ahead if you specifically want to see a vat being worked.
