These terms cover how the studio works with you: what we make, what you agree to when you book a bench or place a commission, and where our responsibility ends. They apply to every order, workshop seat and studio visit at Botanical Fibre.
Hand-knotted macrame, plant-dyed textiles and woven baskets made in the Woodstock studio. Saturday workshops run for eight people and include cord, dye materials and tools. Commission work for restaurants, guesthouses and stylists is quoted per square metre, based on the size, knot pattern and dye batch agreed in writing before we start.
Give us accurate measurements, wall fixings and delivery details. Confirm dye colours from wet samples rather than screens, since onion skin, madder root and indigo shift as they dry. Workshop seats are held under the name you book; tell us at least two days ahead if you cannot attend so the bench can go to someone else.
Plant dyes are not repeatable to a lab standard. Two pieces from the same bath will differ in tone, and indigo deepens with washing. We treat these shifts as part of the work, not a fault. Colour matching is done against physical samples, and we keep dye notes for follow-up pieces where the same fibres are still available.
We are not liable for damage caused by incorrect hanging, unsuitable fixings, damp walls or commercial laundry handling. Report any fault in materials or knotting within fourteen days of delivery and we will repair or remake the piece. Our liability is limited to the value of the item supplied.
Workshop bookings can be moved to a later Saturday once, with two days' notice. Commissions can be paused before the dye bath starts; once cord is cut and dipped, the deposit covers materials already used. We will always tell you where a piece stands before any further work begins.
We revise these terms when our process or workshop format changes, and the current version always applies to new bookings. Existing commissions stay under the terms agreed at the time of order. Questions about these conditions, or about a specific piece, go to info@botanicalfibreart.com or the studio at 31387 Maree Street, Lake Leigh, FS 6238.
